Social Engineering Test
What is Social Engineering?
Social Engineering (SE) is the art of deceiving employees, to make them do things that may not be in the best interest of the organisation such as gaining access to the company's physical location and/or sensitive data — usually done by tricking the target employee to reveal the passwords to an account or install a malicious application that gives the attacker full control of the system.
What is a Social Engineering Test?
A social engineering assessment is designed to ascertain the employees' susceptibility to believe malicious actors and inadvertently cause damage. During the test, cyber security experts would attempt to systematically manipulate the employees in the organisation in order to gain unauthorised access to confidential information and ultimately online accounts.
Once the tests are completed, the results will be presented with a focus on the vulnerabilities in the systems and failure points of the employees. The recommendations can be used to prevent an actual breach. The techniques are designed to be performed both onsite and remotely.
